Job Brief
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our OPS team. In this role you will empower our users with a highly available, performant system. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following.
Responsibilities
- Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications.
- Manage code deployments and configuration changes in production.
- Manage security aspects — ensuring authorized access, running regular security scans, and maintaining traceability of actions in production.
- Manage the production environment’s availability and performance.
- Manage the AWS ecosystem setup for running the applications.
- Bring enhancements to the automation of deployments.
- Gather and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.
- Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures.
- Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts.
- Balance feature-development speed and reliability against well-defined service level objectives.
- Work with the Engineering Head to design, build, and deploy continuous improvement in DevOps automation and adoption.
- Provide operational support for multiple large, distributed software applications.
- Support improvements to the reliability and quality of our suite of software applications.
Technical Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer in a SaaS and mobile product environment.
- Experience with containerization of applications and deployments in container services — AWS ECS and a registry such as ECR or Docker.
- Experience with AWS API Gateway.
- Experience with Kubernetes and Helm.
- Experience with AWS services such as EC2, RDS, EventBridge, Lambda, SNS, SQS, S3, ECS, and MSK.
- Experience with AWS networking services such as VPC, Subnet, and Route Tables.
- Experience working in Linux-based environments.
- Experience with Azure DevOps Pipelines, Jenkins Pipelines, or AWS CodePipeline.
- Experience working with Terraform.
- Ability to program using Python or Shell.
- Experience with Dynatrace as an observability tool, or with Prometheus, Grafana, or Nagios.
- AWS base certifications, including AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate.
Good to have
- Experience with CD tools, preferably ArgoCD.
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional.
- Coding experience beyond simple scripts.
